Born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska, Marcus Payne is the Owner and Director of Heartland Hip Hop LLC. Marcus graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and has over 15 years of hip hop dance experience teaching kids of all ages across the United States. Marcus was most recently the assistant director of an all hip hop studio in South Carolina where he was responsible for 11 award winning crews. Marcus works for Showstoppers Dance Competition as an announcer, and has worked as an assistant for their convention as well. Marcus’s dance credits include: choreographer for HBO’s “Righteous Gemstones”, Charleston Fashion week, recipient of Millennium Dance Scholarship award, Ozlink Australia National tour and many more. Marcus’s desire to share his passion for hip hop dance with others, has brought him back to the Midwest to start his own studio. He is excited to be back home in Nebraska and begin this journey with his family, as him and his wife are expecting twin girls!

Heartland Hip Hop is all about creating a hub for kids and adults of all ages, who are eager to express themselves in a fun, safe, and unique learning environment. At Heartland Hip Hop, our mission is too instill and cultivate confidence. Everyone should feel like a superstar, so we provide the upmost support, energy and compassion to students to not only succeed within the classroom, but outside of it. Through our experience, we strive to offer barrier free entry into premier hip hop dance instruction, attainable fitness and most importantly community.
